Southeast US: While there were numerous fires burning only a few were producing smoke plumes: Liberty County, Florida; Dodge County, Georgia; and Choctaw County, Alabama were most significant. All smoke plumes were moving towards the southwest. Lower and Middle Mississippi Valley: Large number of fires were present but percentage that were generating smoke was significantly less. Smoke generated by these fires was moving west or northwest except in the Mississippi Delta where the smoke was moving towards the southwest. Southern Ontario: Several fires generated smoke plumes that moved to the northeast.
