DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

SMOKE: Texas… Multiple fires were observed along the Gulf Coast emitting heavy density smoke Southeast into the Gulf. Fires in the Panhandle portion of the state were emitting heavy smoke Northeast into Southern Oklahoma. Southeast Gulf Coast… Fires from Southeast Louisiana through the Florida Panhandle were emitting smoke Southeast into the Gulf of Mexico. California… Fires in the San Fernando Valley were observed emitting smoke of varying density that was traveling West. -Westbrook THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
