SMOKE: Canada/United States/Mexico... A large area of light density smoke from wildfires throughout northwestern Canada and the western United States continues to be seen today, stretching from eastern Alaska to Newfoundland and continuing east offshore, and covering most of the US as far south as Baja and northern Mexico. A large area of moderate density smoke was moving southeast from northeastern British Columbia towards the Great Lakes and south into Kansas where clouds obscured visibility. Fires on the west coast were also producing moderate smoke which was moving east. Washington State... Heavy smoke was spreading north and then southeast from fires in central Washington. Oregon/California... Moderate density smoke was expanding over much of the western U.S. from multiple fires scattered throughout California and Oregon. Heavy smoke was moving north and then east from fires in northern California and southwestern Oregon. Saharan DUST: A moderate amount of Saharan dust was observed in the eastern Caribbean.
