DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

SMOKE: Canada/United States... Mixed density smoke attributed to wildfire activity across northwestern and central Canada was observed blowing eastward across Canada toward Hudson Bay, as well as drifting southward into the Northwestern and Central United States. Moderate density smoke was observed moving eastward from the large wildfires in southern Northwest Territories and central Saskatchewan. Moderate to dense smoke was also seen from the fires in central Saskatchewan moving east and southeastward across the province into Manitoba and Ontario. Idaho/Montana... Continued wildfires in the Boise National Park region (Western Idaho) were observed producing large amounts of moderate to possibly thick smoke that extended northeast into Montana, southern Saskatchewan, northern Wyoming, the Dakotas, Wisconsin and into Minnesota. Eglin THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE, TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
